Navy veteran Ricardo Nazaire ’25 found the step-by-step assistance from Middlesex College Veteran’s Center Director – from walking through processes, forms, and procedures in a timely manner, extremely helpful during his time at Middlesex College. The nationally recognized Military & Veterans Services Center at Middlesex College assists veterans in a multitude of ways as they transition to civilian life.
“Opportunities were brought to my attention that fellow student veterans and I never knew existed. It helped knowing I’d be able to leverage assistance from multiple pathways if needed. Though I didn’t personally benefit from the Chromebook program, that form of assistance helps a lot of students. As a Navy Veteran and an individual who decided to finish my academic education at what is considered a nontraditional time in life, it was important to me to find the right ‘fit’ while holding down full-time work and raising my two daughters. The Veteran’s Center at Middlesex College really welcomed me in and helped me to believe getting an excellent education was achievable at Middlesex College.
From Middlesex College, I chose to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications at Kean University where I currently maintain a 4.0 GPA. I genuinely believe that receiving guidance from specific faculty and staff provided me with the foundation towards continued academic success. In gratitude, I look forward to paying that mentorship and guidance forward as an alum for many years to come. After working 14 years in the Navy, I appreciate the extraordinary administrators and faculty at Middlesex College for guiding me to where the next phase of my career experience will go!”
